Rabbit / Pocket Pet Care

Pet Health Care for Rabbit & Pocket Pets

Our veterinarians at Wantagh Animal Hospital are well trained and experienced to care for rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, other small mammals and pocket pets. These small pets have the tendency to not show any signs or symptoms of illness until their condition has worsen. At Wantagh Animal Hospital, we recommend that all pocket pets receive one wellness exams per year to ensure that he or she are doing well and maintaining a course of good health.

It is very important to bring your new pocket pet to the vet within two weeks of their purchase, as it allows our veterinarians to check their health and ensure that everything is as it should. This also gives us a chance to create a baseline record of your pet’s health.

Your pocket pet’s wellness exam is a great opportunity to speak with your veterinarian about any questions or concerns you may have regarding your pet’s health, diet and nutrition, age-related concerns, and much more.
